Alfred M. Taggart 1871-1947 and Emma Taggart (Carle) 1876-1959
 Alfred Milton Taggart (son of Milton & Rachel Taggart) of Custer City Custer Co., S.D. and Emma Carle (daughter of Andrew & Fredrika Carle) of Hay Springs, Sheridan Co., N.E. married July 24th 1899 in Fall River Co. South Dakota.

In 1915 the family traveled by covered wagon to Treamonton, Utah, residing there two years, then returning to Chadron, Neb., to a farm on Chadron creek for a period of two years. Then to Hay Springs which was their home for two years.

In 1920 Alfred & Emma purchased property between Clinton and Rushville, Neb. In 1930 they came to the Black Hills living Pringle, Custer Co.  S. D. in a small Log cabin where they raised their 10 children.

On May 8, 1915, Alfred Milton Taggart loaded his wife Emma and his seven children into two canvas-topped wagons and headed out on a four month journey to Utah. The Taggart family spent a short time in the Fort Collins area, traveling through the Red Desert region, then across the Continental Divide by way of the North Pass. The family arrived in  Treamonton Utah in September 1915. They stayed in Utah for just a short time, returning to Nebraska by train.
